Aggressive Hepatic Resection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Tumor Emboli of Right Main Pertal Vein

Abstract

|
Degree of portal vein involvement is faily reliable in predicting long survival. And tumor¢¥ thrombus in the trunk of portal vein has been considered contraindication for liver resection and transcather arterial embolization(TAE). At recent as development of operative technique, cumulative experience of operation and de-velopment of ability to pre-and post operative management of metabolism of liver, aggressive surgical resection applied to these patient group that has tumor `thrombi in portal vein by some surgeon. We performed right lobectomy succesfully for the HCC with portal vein thrombus in the right main trunk and the patient is alive for 22months without recurrence.
